Drinking water from Aquarolls - Safe?
I tried to edite the title of this post to say 'Drinking from the Acquaroll - Safe???? (with added question marks) but couldn't, so apologies.
We've just sold a caravan, and because I'm fussy about the aquaroll/pump/pipes cleanliness, after health problems some years ago after each caravanning trip, I decided that we should sterilise the water supply before handing it on to the new owners. At the same time we decided to buy a new pump for the new caravan we've bought. We discovered at the caravan dealers that you could buy replacement pump pipes for just over a fiver, so I asked my OH to buy a set to replace the pipes on the caravan we were handing over as the couple buying it have a young baby and I wanted everything to be really clean.
We have sterilised the water supply in our van regularly, and maintained the cleanliness of the acquaroll, so you can imagine my horror when OH took off the old pipes, and I cut them open to see what was inside.
Here is one of the photographs I took - and this is why WE NEVER DRINK FROM THE AQUAROLL.
Anyone got a microscope and would like to analyse this foul gunk? Of if anyone else is changing their pump for any reason, can you have a look inside and tell us what you find, and your cleansing regime.
