One particular thread was recently suspended by the community moderator and has subsequently been withdrawn.  I have to say that on this occasion at least I was in total agreement with that course of action because it had become the stage for one particular person to be more than slightly obnoxious on a number of subjects.

I think we are now all pretty used to members having strong views and in general either stay out of it or change the subject.  What I hadnt realised until the very end was that this particular contributor wasnt even a member!

It is evident that several other Forums have been preyed upon by similar minded people who seem to have one objective and that is to be as extreem and provocative as possible..  There must surely be a way of curtailing their activities and the fact that they are not even registered as members must be a starter.

I belong to only one other Forum - Pprune.  That Forum has a rigid system of only accepting posts from registered members, and each new members entry  carries a "Public Health" warning that it is from a probationary ppruner.  That really does seem to curtail the activities of those out to deliberately cause trouble.

I for one would support strong restrictions on entries from none members!
