Filling your water tank

Hi, we are new to motorhome holidays and have only ventured out twice so far since buying our outfit in November due to school holidays and work etc but each time I have filled up the water tanks (drinking and flush) prior to leaving home as the filler point
is half way up the motorhome and I'm not sure if there is a hose provided at the water points at the CC sites.  I'm interested to see what others do and if their are hose pipes that are long enough at the sites as I'm sure that it would be easier, more cost
effective with fuel and also the worry of being over the axel weight if I fill up on arrival.  Apologies if this is a silly question ;-)
