Downright Bad Manners

Starting to pack up after a week on a busy CL, this motorhomer turns up at 10.30 and parks adjacent to the pitch I was using and stares at me, as if to tell me to shift. The CL owner returned around 11.15 and told the motorhomer to wait outwith the CL. I did delay my departure until 11.50 by double checking that my outfit was road wothy. The CL owner told me which pitch I would be using when I booked, and I imagine that he told the motorhomer which pitch he would be using, and on the CL's listing they do say to arrive after 12noon and depart by 12 noon. I think this motorhomer's attitude was the height of rudeness

Some people are just so easily upset. I'm going to bed. Is that bad manners too?  X

Like many I certainly wouldn't leave my departure until 10 minutes before the deadline.

I had a similar thing happen on a CL a few years ago, caravan arrived just after 11 and drove straight onto the site, they were 5 vans already on site, but we were packing up to leave before 12 as requested. Trouble was the CL was  small and the new arrival
had no where to go. The CL owner was a bit annoyed and they couldn't reverse out. They had been told specifically  not to arrive before 12 by the owner too. They had to squeeze in between other vans and wait while we finished packing up and left.

Sorry, but if the arrival time is clearly stated then the member should be asked to leave and come bacl later. That should also apply to CC sites as well!

CLs are usually very laid back, seldom get issues of this kind, at least in our 30 year experience. No amount of "staring" would have shifted us early, quite the opposite. I suppose if people are undertaking a long journey, sometimes a good run will mean
an early arrival, but there are nice ways to go about dealing with the situation.

Yes, I thought Toro's manners were pretty bad - not saying hello and welcoming the newcomers, asking whether they had had a good journey, and then deliberately stalling and making them wait as long as he could. Rather rude I thought, and I was surprised
he owned up and admitted his behaviour on here, but they say confession is good for the soul, don't they.

Not a CL but Trewethit Farm at Tintagel I was up fairly early had taken the dogs for a walk and been fed and watered when the guy next to us seeing I was taking the awning down asked if I was going to which I just replied yes he didn't give me time to say anything else,no sooner those words had left my mouth when he turned up with 2relatives complete with table and chairs and set them up behind our van. So after folding the awning and placing that in the car we all got in and went out for the day with nothing further being said until we arrived back at 9.00 that night and much to our surprise they were now sat on the chairs with food on the table, what they failed to ask was when we were leaving because I'd seen the weather forecast and strong winds had been forecast and the look on their faces was great when I told them we were leaving , in 3 days time. They had wanted to do a Tintagel shuffle.

Reminds me of a time in Australia when I got pulled over by a cop on a Saturday night, I told him I was leaving on Tuesday. He let me off. I left 7 months later Tongue Out
