VW Golf Mk 6 2010 (ish) Towbar Mods to Rear Bumper

The tow bar company has said that the Witter towbar for the above may need a VW rear bumper modification to hide the tow bar (Detachable swan neck)
Has anyone had a towbar fitted to the Golf and what mods were needed to the bumper ?
Just wondering if the rear of the Golf is liveable with, or does need a cosmetic makeover to hide the mechanics.
