Diesel. Fuel Additive.

I’ve done over 100,000 trouble free miles in my 1.8 diesel Ford Focus. On my last caravan trip the rear of the car was covered in black soot from the exhaust. My garage said they could find nothing wrong. I thought I’d try some fuel additive to clean up
the engine and EGR valve. Has anyone any experience of using this stuff?
