We have booked a show at Manchester opera house at the beginning of March 2017. Can anyone recommend a site that isn't too far from Manchester?  Prefer hardstanding given the time of year.

Burrs Country Park at Bury would be my choice.

Agree with Jill. Bury is a short bus or taxi ride away and from there you have direct access to the tram system into Manchester if you didn't want to take your own car.

Tigwigs, is it just a one day visit?  Would you not stay at a hotel centrally In the city?

Do I guess right that you're going to see Bat out of Hell?  Wink

If you decide on a hotel instead, think about the Midland Hotel.

If you want a CL then Allanson farm, Adlington near Chorley or Red rock fisheries at Walton left Dale,Preston are not too far away. I know Red rock is hard standing with electric. If you do not want to drive into Machester you can park at the station's I
Preston and Chorley and get a train into Manchester

A bit off topic - but when we go to The Lowry we stop at the Premier Inn about 10 minutes walk away, so no parking worries.
