Don't you people have a garden?

This may come across as a critique, but it is actually a question.

I am curious as to why people go to a site, having invested in both the outfit and all the other large ongoing costs, including the fuel to get there, then seldom venture off the site?

I have been on sites within walking distance of forest trails and even beaches and yet there are folks that sit outside of their vans and never seem to go off site? I just can't wrap my head around it sometimes..
