    At home, we always wash out the plastic food trays etc before recycling by using the remainder of the washing up water. However this is far more difficult in the caravan  due to lack of space/ small bore pipes etc so we do often throwaway these trays 

    Another general point, does rinsing bottles/jars etc with treated mains water make environmental sense?
