Inflation busting laundry increase
Going to some new sites this year so pulled up the site info leaflets. I was surprised to see that the costs for laundry services had increased substantially. It is now £4 for a wash (up from £3) and £1 for the dryer (up from 70p). It's rather sad but we
have kept a site leaflet from 2005. This shows the costs at £2 and 40p respectively. Therefore, the cost has doubled in 10 years, or perhaps put more shockingly increased by 7 to 8 percent year on year. That's even more than train fares. As we are retired
and now take extended holidays, we do have to use the laundry. As an average wash requires two dry cycles, this means the cost of a wash will increase from £4.40 to £6. I know electricity costs have increased substantially in the last 10 years but still feel
this level of increase to be excessive.
