just wanted to pass our thanks onto David for some very useful directions

we recently visited Abbey Wood and followed David's route in through Thamesmead and Erith from the Dartford crossing. Its a straightforward route on mostly duel carriage way and fairly traffic free (if you avoid rush hour !)

we 'flew' it on street view first which helped too

Glad it was useful Steve. Normally I would always suggest people follow the route in the handbook but having used that some years earlier I wondered if there was an easier way of getting to the site. When I spoke to the warden he did agree that the "Thamesmead"
route was better but apparently the local authorities will only allow them to sign one route to the site.

We have been fortunate to have someone of DK's knowledge  posting on this forum and another forum of which I'm a member.. He is an absolute mine of great information on all aspects of this hobby of ours, be it in the UK or the Continent. Caravan or Motorhome.. His blogs are definitely well worth reading.

There is another poster who I regularly see on another forum but have not seen posting on here for some time.   he is an absolute expert in his field also.  His name is Dartman and what that chap doesn't know about all aspects of engineering isn't worth talking about.

That's the beauty of forums -- There is always extremely knowlegable others who can assist and advise those who are in need of information.
