Are your mugs clean?

Our melamine mugs suffer from tea-stained insides, even though they are washed up, and occasionally taken home to run through the dishwasher (machine not OH). Just how do you keep yours clean? Weve tried bleach but seem to be able to taste it, even after
multiple rinses; perhaps it seeps into the melamine. Ideas and experiences most welcome.
