Just to let folk know that the campsite will still be open after the 31st Oct this year. The details on the CC website booking page says its closes then, however on North Ledaig website it doesn't, so I gave them a ring and they confirmed that the site becomes
a working site after the 31st, they are not using noisy machinery or anything like that, just moving caravans into storage and maintenace around the site. The office will be open in the mornings and the shop will be greatly reduced in stock, 1 shower and toilet
block will be open. Its a lovely site even in the off season and with the mild weather we are having at the moment I thought I would let CTers know.

Yep I like North Ledaig -- Stayed there many times -- One of the best commercial sites on the west coast.

Very helpful post TG! We actually joined the Club there many years ago, and still one of our favourite sites. Personally, I think the Club might want to start having a bit of a rethink about Winter closures for a few more sites, especially as the weather
is quite nice at the moment, and given the much better heaters and other living arrangements in most vans and MH's. A lot of money spent to be lying idle for months at a time!Happy

Yes its one of our favourite sites, we try to get there at least once a year, so was dissapointed when I saw that it was closed from the 31st. Glad that I checked though as it means we can go next week for a couple of days if it stays fine Smile

Couldn't agree  more TTDA about keeping sites open for longer, we love going away in the winter months when sites in the UK are quieter and H/S can be had Wink

Yes, Winter touring is lovely. We hope to be out at least every two to three weeks, only short tours, but love visiting different places that are getting ready for Christmas, then a lot quieter in the New Year. Dales area for us next, bit of Xmas shopping,
bit of walking. Only thick snow stops us touring, but then we get the Jeep out to play!Happy

Hi Tammy girl, thanks for the information. Did they say that they are open all year, or just closing later than 31/10 ?

If they didn't say , it's no problem, I'll just give them a call.

    Thanks again, Alex.

It's OK Tammygirl, I've checked their website and they are open all year. Great news! We couldn't get on Grantown or Stonehaven for Hogmanay, so will now be going to Oban. Thank you, Alex.

We seem to have had a 6 or 7 weeks tour in Scotland every other year over the last 10 years. Have used North Ledaig twice on our travels and really enjoyed the area.
