My top three favourite books are, in no particular order,

The Day of the Jackal, The Stand, Birdsong. I felt that they were totally ruined by miscasting or very bad translation to the big or small screen. here's another rant, who was the moron who cast a 4' midget (Tom Cruise) as the best book hero of our time,
Jack Reacher!!!. He is a BIG guy!
