Carnforth Truckstop
Arriving by sea at Heysham at 11.30pm I stayed at Carnforth Truckstop overnight in my motorhome. I had emailed them earlier to check it was ok.
It is a big lorry park and I had to reach up to take my entry ticket. I parked at the far end of the well lit compound. I did not use the cafe or the fuel forecourt.
I heard a few trains till I slept. When I woke at 7am most of the trucks had left. I paid my £10 at the reception and visited the toilets which were pretty grubby by then but a cleaner was just about to tackle the job (bless her - one of life's heroines).
I would use it again when I need a late arrival and you might want to to use it if you ran out of time or energy on a long journey. Motorway service stations often charge between £20 and £30 for a park which is worse than Carnforth.
Hope this helps someone,
Bob
There is a sign saying "NO CARAVANS" but the cashier told me it was there to deter "travellers".
