Is it me, or is there a lot of negative threads on these two at the moment?

I was thinking of replacing my 2005 Santa Fe, which for 90,000 miles has been brilliant, reliable, tows like a train, and still looks terrific. The 2007 shape ones have expensive clutch issues, the 2014 shape have rear spring problems and serious Towbar
issues, to name a few.

Have they lost thier way a bit? Is the Sssangyyong the way to go now? What newer cars SUV's are proving reliable these days? My Skoda Octavia Scout 4x4 was a great car, I would not hepsitste to recommend them.
Toyota? Rav 4 is a big car now. Land Rovers? questionable long term reliability again. BMW had serious water issues during last years floods.
