I have two cars, a Santa Fe for towing and carrying my canoes and kayaks around, and my little Smart Roadster that I now tend to use a lot to go and see clients with.

Now - and I am only brainstorming here so don't panic Mollys Mum (not yet anyway) - I have gone self employed I need to think about tightening the boot straps a little, but it is important I do not look like I have hit skid row.

I was thinking of selling both of my existing cars and getting a C70 D5 Geartronic. One road tax bill, one insurance bill. D5 is economical as well. The Hyundai isn't.

The car has the weight to tow my Charisma 555 (just), it certainly has the power, and I can get a canoe trailer, but is is a good choice to bung a big caravan on the back of, having been used to my 4x4?

Or is it a bit too 'grandad' a car? Bearing in mind I am a young 53 year old whipersnapper.

Thoughts and muses welcomed.

We've got his and hers cars and have thought about downsizing to one to save the readies but not ready yet. I can see where you're coming from but is it worth it? Just what would you save and what would you 'loose' on part exing/selling 2 cars...
