Decorating a washroom

Hi am new to the club and discussion board so hoping I am posting in the correct place.
I have bought an older van and although it is in pretty good condition and I have done some improvements to it, as well as putting on new tyres and other safety requirements. The Washroom is tatty, I know there is some damp behind one wall but is it possible to either re-paper or paint the washroom walls to cheer it up a bit. Youe tips would be appreaciated.
