Thanks for your good wishes H & T and Goldie, hope you get away, we've been having a great time up here in Cumbria on two sites, one more night at Coniston and then we travel southwards. It would have been nice to say hello!
By the way the National was a very inclusive event, we were near the Scottish region, the SW and Scotland were side by side on the outer reaches of the National which meant quite a trek to events. Had a good time flag spotting different counties and areas, our flying penguin did us proud.

It is neither K, it is quite simply - The National, the original, all encompassing event that is open to all members wherever they are from.
No confusion, about title or anything else other than that you insist on trying to stir up every year at this time The Club did not 'rebrand'
it, they simpy decided to drop the 'Rally' from the title, as more and more non-centre members became involved and it became less centre-orientated.Alison

Write your comments here...F/D Thank you for your opinion. What is strange about those rally names, is that we have a Welsh National Rally where other nations are invited and We have a Scottish National Rally where other nations are invited but England appears to be missing out by not having it's own National rally.
Even you must admit that this seems a strange omission as England is as entitled to a National Rally as other of the home nations.
With reference to my question of my previous post. Is this rally which you are calling "The National" the equivalent of the English national rally where other nations are invited, ------or is it a whole UK National rally. In which case England is missing out.
It is a straightforward question for which there has never been a satisfactory answer.
Im sure someone from H/O can assist in providing an answer.
Once again F/D thank you for your input.

They can call it what they like. I just see it as six days of holiday and fun with plenty of interesting things going on!

I think you really mean that it has never been answered to your satisfaction K But then that is surely because no matter
how many times you ask (and it is often) for someone from HO to answer - they always seem uninterested in getting into a debate with you.Never mind, maybe next year (or not)
Oh and don't forget there is also an Irish National, but these regional ones all came later than The National, (no, it is not the English one - it includes ALL areas/regions/divisions, always has irrespective of them holding their own, which are much smaller
events)Alison

Write your comments here..Thank you for your opinion F//D -----.If as you claim it is the UK National Rally designed to be attended by all areas/regions/divisions,why then is it always held in England.
In fairness a countrywide annual "all encompassing" event should be rotated around different parts of the UK. i.e Wales one year Scotland another year and England another year. That's what most companies who value all of their customers would do.
That to me that course of action would be fair to all and minimise excessive travel .
But then, if it's actually the English National Rally then it is quite rightly held in the country of England for the benefit of those who live in that country.
As you say the CC holds Much smaller events in Scotland Wales and Ireland .
A cynic might say that's because only England is deemed important in the eyes of the CC. -
Not me of course

I hear what you say Kennine, but bet that we in Cornwall are further from next year's big rally at Sandringham, than you are in West Lothian. An academic point though as it's the last thing in the world I would think of going to. And you too?

It is not rotated around the UK - it is rotated around the smaller area that IS central to all, and whichever way you look at it that is in England. It is totally unnecessary to rotate it around Wales/Scotland/Ireland/England because there are individual ones held in the first three, England is the only one that doesn't get its own because it always has The National, simple !
Alison
Oh and the smaller individual Nationals are not organised by the Club like the National (which is organised by the Events Committee) they are organised and run by the Welsh, Scottish & Irish Divisions themselves.

I think at last we are getting a bit of clarification. From now on I will call it the English CC Rally. As by your explanation it would appear that----England is the only nation which benefits from events run by the CC .
Nice to know that the other Nations have to do it all by themselves.

You can call it what you wish K but it still won't be the English National, - and how can England be the only nation that benefits when it has always been The National to which ALL are welcome so is organised for the benefit of ALL who choose to attend.

Alison
Write your comments here...yes F/ D. Those from Other nations have always been able to attend the English National Rally . . -- Just as English ralliers are able to attend the Welsh National Rally and the Scottish national rally. Only one of those three rallies are recipients of and benefit from the Head office resources.
The other two rallies are left to be organised by the ralliers themselves.
Some cynics might say that this could be seen as national favouritism by the CC. Not me of course

Write your comments here...I think that if the National was in Scotland, Kennine, it would need to be longer than just six days because of the distance people in the South of England would have to travel to get there.
Scotland is a beautiful country right from the border to the northern most tip with lots of magnificent scenery but you won't do it justice if you try do it all in six days!

Write your comments here...Thank you Malcolm. But what has to be remembered is that it is exactly the same journey time and the same mileage for English members to travel from England to Scotland as it is for Scottish members travel from Scotland to England.
I do agree with you that Scotland is a beautiful Nation with fantastic scenery in abundance. Thanks
