Towing Stability

I have found my Bailey Pegasus is not as stable behind my Nissan X Trail as my older Bailey (without ATC) was.I have also had the cars ESP light come on when towing. When  my concerns were mentioned to my Bailey dealer one of the salesmen said he had heard
that the latest advice was to turn the car's traction control off when towing. I always load the caravan correctly and check noseweight before towing and MTPLM is well below the cars towing limits. Have any other members encountered anything similar
