Mercedes ML 250 Bluetec

As a first year caravanner I realise my car isn't heavy enough so I've just been and had a test drive of a new Mercedes ML250 Bluetec but question whether it's got enough umph!

The 2.1 ltr diesel has plenty of torque and 204 BHP but wonder what it would be like with 1500kg of loaded caravan on the back.

Does anyone currently tow with such a car?  I'd be really grateful for some feedback.

Option B is a VW Touareg R Line V6 - feedback on this one would be great too.
