Melrose Gibson Park and Forfar Lochside are both good sites within towns.  Melrose is open all year.

There was a thread with a long list of such sites on here once......I think it was a 'sticky' for a while.

A search may work or maybe someone can remember the title?

Write your comments here...try the Sticky in this section headed INFORMATION POINT. It's the second post that David Klyne put up, first or second item down.

Moffat C&CC site, open to non members.

Witches Craig near Stirling.  There is a CC site further along the same road, but this one is nearer.

Braemar Caravan park is another option, which is even better now that it is an affialated site.

There are quite a few to choose from.

Moffat C&CC, Maragowan CC site in Killin, Ayr Craigie Gardens CC, Lomond Woods Holiday Park, Luss C&CC, Forfar Lochside, Gart Holiday Park (Callander), Craigton Meadows Holiday Park (St Andrews). These are the ones that we have used before so just a selection for you to consider.

Francis, there's not much of a town near the Luss site, more a tourists visitor centre really.

Yes fair point but the village is very nice and Balloch isn't too far away but yes that might not count as a town either still worth a visti though.

.Another Another one in the far North is the former CC site in Wick. Haven't stayed there but popped in past for a look a few years back. Met the owners, nice people, nice site and a short walk along the river to the town. Kellysmum
