I have a Thetford cassette toilet that has started to leak pink flush fluid under the cassette. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you fix it? Any suggestion gratefully received!

Do you know which bit of the cassette it's coming from?

Could it be a worn seal and some fluid comes out while driving and the liquid is sloshing around? If so, the black rubber seal is easy enough to replace.

Or is there a crack in the cassette itself? I have heard of the seam coming apart. If so, it probably needs a new cassette - but check caravan breakers for a better price.

I had the exact same problem and it was the neck seal on the cassette that had started leaking. A new one cost around £10 or so, easy to fit, if you google it, there is a YouTube video by the great John Wickersham and he talks you through how to fit it,
there are a couple of hidden screws under a little clip which cannot be seen until you flick the clip/guide out.. Hope this helps, it sorted mine out and it's like a new one again.

Is he not talking about 'pink flush fluid' and under the cassette Undecided On mine there is a flush tank drain and pipe in the cassette compartment, maybe it is this leaking onto the compartment floor.

I see Dave, it's just the pink fluid, my leaking problem was the pink fluid leaking when left in the bowl, if it is leaking when the cassette is empty then it must be either the pipe work or the drain bung that is leaking as you say. I guess it's a bit of
investigation work to isolate the problem. Good luck Harryh

Re-reading it Swifty, it could be either, meaning the pink flush when flushed is leaking around the sealSmile Either way I'm sure like you said
that Harry will fill us in.

Hi, thanks for replies. This is happening when caravan is static and I can't understand why there is no sign of pink fluid on exterior of cassette, just clean pink fluid underneath the cassette when I remove it. And the toilet is working perfectly. I guess
I'll have to investigate further and let you know!

My Header tank, which is above the cassette compartment, has a drain hole to the side with a rubber bung in it for draining down pre winter, Is the bung leaking? Is the bung pushed in fully? hence the fresh pink water collecting under the cassette. Or it may be leaking from between header tank to bowl.

I've had eaxctly the same problem as the OP and when I raised this at the dealer's when the van was in for service, I was told that it is a very common occurrence and is due to travelling with (too much) pink fluid in the header tank.  Ideally, the tank
should be drained down before travelling but most people (including us), don't. I would suggest that, if after drying the fluid off, it doesn't happen again whilst static - that this is probably the most likely cause.  If, however, it is happening whilst static
on site, then that's another matter.  The technician did explain where the fluid could leak from whilst travelling - but I can't remember exactly what he said!!

Did you get to the bottom of this. My new Lunar Quasar has Thetford 262 CWE and I am having a problem with water dripping from the flush tank just over the outside end of the cassette. It drips even when the cassette is not in so is definately coming from
the flush tank. Not coming from the drain tube. About half pint has collected in the base of the cassette compartment over a period of 4 days!

    Let's try and flush out a solution (sorry).  I had same symptoms (pink fluid under the cassette) and it was the seal on the cassette that needed replacing.  Straight forward job to replace it,  now all ok.  John; maybe that the pump is not seated properly,;
if not, sounds like a crack somewhere.  As your caravan is new back to the dealer to sort out.
