We are going to the Isle of Wight for the first time in July, Is there anywhere to stay near Portsmouth Port ? We will be boarding at about 5 am so were just looking to have a few hours in the caravan waiting for the ferry, We dont want to drive down from
Ely in the early hours.

    Was going to say the ferry port but the ferry before you is at 3am.  What site are you aiming for once on the Island?

    There are ferry pitches at Rookesbury Park which is a short drive to the harbour about 30mins.  You can leave any time on these pitches.

    Write your comments here...  Could get the earlier ferry, we often get MH's and caravanners stoping in the Tesco car park.  It's not far from Whitecliffbay.

    If you just want to get your head down for a few hours, then you could probably find space to park up along Southsea sea front to the east of St Georges Road towards the Eastney end near the Royal Marines Museum.
