BMW cooling fan upgrade/

Dear all, I have a `59 plate BMW 3 series saloon (320d) and I want to fit a towbar to pull my 1300kg caravan. I`ve heard that I should upgrade the car engine air cooling fan from a 300watt to 400 watt to prevent engine overheating. This fan upgrade would be extremely expensive. Has anyone heard of or is aware of this recommendation?
