DIesel clean up??

  A friend of mine with a diesel car insists that he has to have the engine treated on a regular basis with something akin to the 'Redex' treatment.

  This, apparently involves running the tank to near empty, then adding something into the tank and running at 70 for some period of time to 'flush out the system'

 

  I've never heard of this, have you/do you???
