Road safety - make the pledge
Road Safety is an important issue for The Caravan Club – we all hope our caravanning, touring (and other) journeys will be safe and trouble free. We’re supporters of several initiatives in this area, including the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 and the European Road Safety Charter. The advice we give Club members and the work we do in conjunction with other organisations supports these campaigns.
One of the partners we work with is the FIA - the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile. The FIA are not only the governing body for motorsport worldwide, but also a global ‘club of clubs’ which represents motorist’s interests on issues like safety, the environment and consumer law.
FIA have recently launched a new road safety campaign, based around 10 very simple ‘Golden Rules’ which I’m sure as responsible road users we already follow. If you want to join current Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton and our own Director General Nick Lomas in signing the pledge to uphold these basic rules and to raise awareness of road safety, you can do so on the FIA website here. It’s very easy to fill in and only takes a minute. Thank you for your support.
