I have 2 Dogs-Mum & Daughter, I love watching the interaction between them. We are lead to believe there is a Dominant Dog in the pack then it filters down to the next in 'charge' etc. With My 2 they certainly seem to either share the supposed Dominance
or they have not really accepted the Human take on Canine relationships re 'Pack behaviour'. This morning for instance-both relaxing on the Rug in front of the Stove, their favourite position whether the Stove is alight or not. Daughter decided it was time
to play(Mum not in agreement) She took the play/bow position & started tweaking Mums Ears, Tail, Paws, Mum sat up-Daughter bowed in front of Her, Mum cuffed Her on the Head with a Paw, slap, right on top of the Head. Daughter backed off, then ran into the
Kitchen, Mum sat watching the door that Daughter exited thru, I heard the movement building from the Kitchen. . . .Whack, Daughter bowled Mum completely over with a Mouth full of Rope ring. Mum then shot up & nudged Daughter(hard) with Her Nose. Daughter then
calmed down & they both then set to resting on the Rug again. That would suggest Mum has Dominance. Yet when they pass thru doors, get treats, greet Me, Daughter is always in the forefront, with no competition from Mum, suggesting Daughter has Dominance. I
find this fascinating, the fact they seem to coexist mutually without a clear Leader between them.
