Fiamma Canopies - On or Off

any one got any views on whether it is both safe and practical to leave a canopy in the awning rail whilst travelling.

I've spoken to dealers about this and get conflicting answers.

I always remove ours but if possible it would be great to be able to leave it on as it sits away from the door light and the tail lights.
