Fridge in motorhome on overnight ferries

We are using the ferry this time for crossing the Channel leaving at 10.30pm arriving around 6.30ish.  Not having done this before with our motorhome as we usually use the Shuttle, we are wondering how other people cope with the stuff in the fridge.  We
only have an hour journey to the port so it probably will not be very cold.  Has anyone done this?  We wonder if leaving it on the leisure battery might be a bit risky.
