I have been using Satellite navigation aids for many years. I am currently on number 4. When you purchase your GPS, it is out of date map wise, by about 2 to 3 years. The companies that produce the maps cannot keep up with the perpetual change with new road
layouts etc. They are not the GPS manufacturers. The manufacturers buy this data from the map suppliers.

There are a few companies that have GPS systems where you get constant map up dates at a cost, either by the purchase price of the unit or by an extra payment for newer version maps, most are by this method?

I purchased my latest GPS last November, I had a free map upgrade, which was part of the T’s & C’s, but there is another upgrade available, which will cost me £60. I will pass at this one and go for the next map up grade, when available?

For those that are new to GPS units, remember this.

Set the unit up, not for shortest, or quickest, or fastest, but for Motorways and major roads.

Do not forget YOU are the one driving, if it said turn at the next, and you can see that it is not for you, do not take the turning?

It is a driving aid and has no intelligence. YOU have the decision to take that route or not.
