Christmas at Seacroft

A copy of an e-mail I've just sent to caravan Club head Office...

"Hi,

For some years I’ve been trying to book Seacroft site for the Christmas holiday period without success.  On 5th December this year at 0900 (when 2013 bookings opened) I was on line, only to find that the site was already fully booked.

I am nonetheless in the area, and have spoken to a number of people who have successfully booked for the 2012  Christmas holiday period.  They all say that it is difficult to get a booking on Seacroft unless you telephone the site early.  Nowhere on your website does it say that telephone bookings are necessary for Seacroft.

I have also spoken to people who say that they have been refused telephone bookings at Seacroft for Christmas because they chose not to have the site’s Christmas dinner, at a cost of in excess of £70.

I would love to spend Christmas at Seacroft, but as a pensioner I cannot afford to pay over £70 for a meal.

Now, if there is a policy that requires telephone booking for Christmas at Seacroft, should this not be made clear on your website?  And is it not discriminatory, particularly against pensioners,  and against the principles of the Caravan Club, to make bookings on your sites conditional on acceptance of other, grossly overpriced, facilities?  The Caravan Club is, after all, a club for the benefit of caravanning members, not for your restaurant managers.  This also discriminates against local businesses which offer a comparable Christmas meal at a fraction of the price.

I have to say that I feel very aggrieved because of this policy at Seacroft.  Could you please reassure me that bookings can in fact be made online for Christmas, and that if it is necessary to make telephone bookings that this will be made plain on the bookings section of the website?  Also, could you investigate the apparent policy of not allowing non restaurant customers to book for the Christmas period?

I look forward to your comments.

 Dave Wright"

Will I get an answer, I wonder?
