Wi-Fi Boosters.

 .Can anyone advise as to a suitable booster that i can use in the M/Home to extend the range ?? When on site last week @ Appledurcombe
I.o.W ,i was only 100 yds from the free connection ,but not enough signal so had to go into the reception (or stand outside when closed) to use the laptop.

I have looked on the webb ,but am still confused as there appears to be mbps,of 150 to 300 etc .Some are plug-in to 240v or the laptop. Which is preferable ?? .
