Sanef has been available in the UK for years. I got my tag in 2010.  What advantages are there in getting one via Eurotunnel?

I have no idea what those SANEF tags cost, but ATMB are still giving them away free - if you apply on line before 25 March 2016

We have had ours for a few years, the point the OP is making is that Eurotunnel has not offered them prior to this year .

Apologies for asking further Sanef relate questions.

Looks a great convienience, but the set up costs will run to about €50 before I start.

My only trip this year will only take me through three toll gates between Metz and Strasbourg in each direction, if I read the map correctly.

    So is it worth it?

Are the manual pay lanes caravan freindly?

Are there significant delays on the manual pay lanes?

Does the ATMB tag (free until 25th March) work all all French motorways?

The website only appears to suggest it is only the alpine routes (may be just seasanal marketing)

Both Sanef and ATMB tags will work across the French motorway system. I think many have gone for a Tag because of the increasing number of automatic toll booths. Having said that you can manage perfectly well without one. We got one when we changed from
a caravan to a motorhome as it was more difficult for Margaret to lean out of the window as she was quite high up. I am sure I did not pay anywhere near as much for my Sanef Tag. Have you checked out the Eurotunnel offer in the OP?

No more moaning from Mrs A, that she has to get out and feed the machines, hair in place, 50 euro is a small price to pay for happiness

Yes, had a look, the Eurotunnel offer in the OP is only available with a Eurotunnel booking ref.

I could manage, but take Admirals point, it will be the OH feeding the machine...Yell
I think I will sort out an ATMB tag.
Shame only the home page has english translation, after that it is all in French. Thank the lord for Google translation.

I don't regret getting my SANEF tag in the slightest.  We got it in 2014 - the Eurotunnel offer.  No more messing around with small change or risking the credit/debit cards not working at the toll booth.  I just wish they would work on the M6 toll or the
Dartford crossing here in the UK.

We got the ATMB tag last year when it was on offer, not had any problems with it so far. We don't speak French but managed to negotiate the website ok. There was a good thread on here about it but I bet you won't be able to find it.Yell

We are just thundering up the A7 on the way back to Blighty. The Sanef tag has behaved perfectly. There is a small deposit, which is refundable, and an annual charge of €5 but, in my view, that is well worth it for the convenience of bring able to drive through the toll booths without having to take tickets and pay at the other end. The latter is worse when it is raining. The Sanef website is in English, not surprising considering the UK bit of Sanef is based n the UK.

I have the ATMB tag too and have just had to amend the  payment details due the credit card expiry date. Managed this ok by pasting the messages into Google translate. We are not  big users of the toll roads but as others have said its mighty convenient
to use even though I have not plucked up the courage to do the "drive through" yet

..a very timely reminder AD as we just received our new cc today and will need to do the same, hope its not too difficult.

They will get in touch with links to the screen for the new card details, it has to be done even if the card number remains the same. Not to difficult.

    ..thanks David.

As above, our ATMB tag works fine (although not the very first time we used it). The big advantage is that there is no annual charge and only a small charge for any month you use it in.

We have an SANEF tag. It's the convenience I like. Also being billed at the end of the month and having the French exchange rate.. ??
