Appledurcombe Park .I.o.W
.What a lovely site Appledurcombe Park is !! Clean & tidy ,well laid out ,quiet & peacefull (well @ this time of year anyway). The shop
is only open briefly in the morning,8-15 to 9-30 ,The bar is closed as is the pool. The newest W.C/Shower block is the best iv'e seen ,U.K or Europe. For eat's there is only one pub just up the road ,was'nt impressed, quite a fair walk.My choice of eats just
had to be 'The Spyglass' @ the end of Ventnor esplanade, The Steamer on Shanklins sea front,or next door The waterfront.
Approaches to the site can be a bit tight for larger C/Vans or larger M/Homes as the turn from the main Rd is tight ,(best approached from the Godshill/Shanklin Rd).The lane to the site only has ONE passing space (if there's no car parked) or another 'Van'
is'nt coming out .The turn into the advised site gate is very tight & up hill. When leaving to join the main road again with a 'van' behind ,give plenty of turning circle & beware of wheelspin if wet !!
Lovely site for walkers bikers,or general touring of the Island.Very good rates on "Red Funnel" & site fee's this time of year. For my Autocruise + Smart £47.00 each way & £77.00 site fee.Shall do it again out of season .
