Mayday
I have just cancelled my DD to Mayday as having used them twice and each time a disaster. The first occasion was when we were in Derbyshire and on trying to leave "The Firs" site we could not get the mover to disengage. We called Green flag (Mayday) and
the response was "What's a motor mover?" I thought this mayday was specifically for caravanners. By the time their van turned up we had spoken to Powertouch and got enough info to get it off ourselves.Again their engineer had no idea about caravans. The other
issue was that after my mobile connection was lost and I called back the operator made me go all through the information I had already given, name, address, car, caravan, towball, problem etc.etc.etc. even though she recognised my voice and I told her I was
on a dying battery, she was insistent quoting Data Protection. She kept on asking if the towball was greased or not. I said "What difference will that make you aren't going to be towing the van, when the mover is off we'll be on our way. This just made me more
angry. The second incident happened in north London. We waited 2 hours and while phoning every fifteen minutes we were given different excuses, the lsat one being an absolute lie. We were told that a second vehicle had to be despatched to us, but when it came
the driver told us he'd had the job for two hours. They offered us a derisory £10. There is nothing special about Mayday and now the RAC are providing the same recovery as they are. We are joining today!
