Towing a new 8 ft wide caravan - advice or comment
I have been towing caravans for over 30 years and my wife & I spend time abroad each year. We currently own a 4 year old Buccaneer Schooner which, whilst well equipped it is simply too long for continental touring. At 7.94 metres long, there are many sites
in Southern France, Spain and Italy that cannot take the van. On those sites that will accept us, I often have trouble negotiating the site or getting onto the pitch; and yes, I do have motor movers and I have been reversing farm trailers for many years.
I am thinking of buying the new Buccaneer Cutter. Its 2.455m (8 ft) wide but single axial and 7.6 m long. Should be more manoeuvrable? However, I don’t want to find myself reducing in length only to find I’ve shot myself in the foot by going too wide?
Any thoughts or experiences would be appreciated.
