Had my usual monthly trip to the storage this morning to check all was in order with our van after the heavy snowfalls here. Sadly for one fellow vanner with his 62 plate Honda CRV trying to take his van out he became completely stuck in the snow which was
in fairness was 8 or 9 inches deep. The curiosity is and maybe something prospective buyers should be aware of is, the rear drive wheels simply would not turn. Now I have seen clips on Youtube showing similar problems on wet grass on a gentle slope with this
car doing exactly the same. Front wheels spinning rear wheels doing nothing. Very common type of terrain for vanners who rally or use Cl's I would suggest. The lady was getting a bit distressed as they were heading to Scotland and wanted to be there today
as tomorows forecast here and north of the Border is horrendous. Any way unhitched his van, towed him out, then his van with traction contol off as per the manual in these conditions. No problems at all. It did occur to me as I dont know if the Crv has an
off button for its traction control. The couple left before I could suggest it.

I know this car is a popular towcar with people and a bit of a surprise to me to witness it struggling when its slippery. Certainly for me permanent 4wd seems to have a real and significant advantage over the so-called 'intelligent' variety.
