....the thing I have difficulty in coming to terms with is that my mind feels the same now as it did when I was in my late twenties (at a rough guess), but the body is beginning to feel a bit creaky.  It's the mis-match I just find hard!

So could being old, or not. just simply be an attitude of mind. I have a neighbour, who is in his fifties, whom is always too old to participate in anything strenuous. Whereas my mother danced three times a week into her nineties. At 100, she has a laptop,
and uses facebook to keep in contact with family and friends.

Best thing about being old(er) and retired is that we can do what we want, when we want, at the speed we want

There is certainly a lot more flexibility when you are 'retired' from full time work.

Our local surgery considers 85 as the age when they consider someone old.

Good to know that I have to wait 15 years before I am officially old. Trouble is why do I feel some days that I am 85 years oldSurprised

I saw a post yesterday calling us Seenagers, i.e. senior teenagers because we can do all the things we either couldn't afford or weren't allowed to do the first time around as teenagers. Happy

I'm certainly not old, and the thought that I could be described as a 'OAP' in the press horrifies me!  (Even though I am).

Our grandchildren don't think we're old - we asked them yesterday - and they told us we were just 'A big boy and a big girl'!!

It's just a number,we will be still going down the water slides in Majorca and Feurtaventura in April and August and we are both 74. My younger siblings would not allow us to have an old persons outlook on life.  Happy

You are getting old when you are cautioned by your Doctor to slow down, rather than the Police.

Well I went to the doctor's recently & he said my body was unique!  Well what he actually said was "I've never seen anything like it".

I don't think of myself as old but I am realistic. I was looking at some of the Munros, near where we are going in Scotland, and wondering if they were a step to far. I suppose I could try for half way.

Some people are born aged,  some achieve age others have age thrust upon them.

    (with apologies to Shakespeare).
