Signal Strength
My old van had a fixed TV ariel that either worked or not due to the local conditions. Now my new one can be positioned vertically or horizontally together with moving in a circle. The amplifier has a variable gain control with a coloured light for the best position. Having tried just about every combination I found it made no difference what I did.The light that should have changed to green stayed red. Surprisingly the worst channel was BBC when previously this was always the strongest.
Can anyone throw some light on when you would use either vertical and horizontal? Also how can you determine which direction to point the ariel to face the transmitter?
It has been a little frustrating as the ariel controls are fitted inside a wardrobe with no light.
