We are travelling to France in June and have been told it is essential to have towing mirrors. We bought Maypole mirrors for an SUV but the straps are far too short to fit round the mirrors on a Honda CRV and the company advises they do not supply longer straps!  Has anyone any advice about which mirrors to buy please.

You can buy longer straps on EBay.

So from your question it seems that you don't use towing mirrors in the UK?

I use Milenco Aero on our 2010 CR-V, no need for straps - you can fasten them on really tightly with the supplied fittings. Looking at their website, may be the XXL ones we have, as the arms look slightly longer than on the standard - maybe they've changed
    since I bought ours?

Thanks for all advice will certainly go for Milenco. The old towing mirrors I used for our previous car will not fit CRV either! Oneputt (Norfolk).

I use MGI rock steady towing mirrors on my 2008 CRV. They fit perfectly and are a lot cheaper than the Milenco version.

I fit mine to the bottom edge of the mirror not the top. The reason being is that they don't foul the car mirror, because there is a bigger gap.

The MGI come as a pair, and in my local accessory shop for £21.99
