New Avtex high gain omni-direction aerials

Hi, we have just purchased a new Coachman caravan which comes fitted with a "new" Avtex high gain omni-direction whip type (tv) aerial which is supposed to be good for all signals used by van's radio and tv. Having read some on-line forums there appears
to be a lot of negative opinions about this aerial. Does anybody have any knowledge of this? - there is no mention of this type of aerial on Avtex's web site.
