Hitch Problems
We have just returned from 10 nights away, seven at Morn Hill and three at Devizes CCC Site. The morning we left home and had done about 1 mile the hitch started groaning and banging, we had just had new friction pads fitted at the second year service, so
it could not have been the pads, as we only live 2 miles from the dealer we headed there as Mrs A was very nervous about towing the van anywhere, the Dealer looked at it and said there was nothing wrong it has to be the tow bar/balls fault, so unhitched van
and headed to the Tow Bar Fitters about two miles away, they checked it over every bolt was checked and the ball was also checked, they said it was the vans hitch, so back to Dealers who took off a hitch from a new van on sale and off we went. needless to
say we had no further noises from the van. Has anyone else experienced a faulty hitch as in over 40 years of caravanning I have never had a problem of this nature, I would be interested to hear your comments.
