Tyre Pressure - first time out

Hi - I know this may sound like a stupid question but how do other members check there tyre pressures?  Most garages round by us don't seem very caravan friendly when it comes to pulling up next to the air line.  So I was wondering whether it would be best
to carry a footpump and if so any recommendations?
