MOTORHOME PLATED WEIGHT

Currently have Autotrail Apache (2011) - plated weight 3500kgs (GVM). Have heard that it is a paper exercise to upgrade plated weight to 3650kgs. Has any other motorhomers done this?? Is it lots of hassle? Any tips please?
