Ventura Pacific Leaking zips

Weve just been away to Bridlington (great club site) to erect our new full awining for the first time and on friday we had a day of heavy constant rain tho only vertical! 

We sat there and noticed that drips were forming and dripping from the curtain rails which when we investigated urther we found all of the door/panel zips we allowing water to come thro into the awning.

We have used a Ventura Cadet and not noticed this happening before.

Is this common place or do we have to return to the dealer?
