Rodent Attack!

Having collected my van from storage I took it for a sevice. At collection the garage told me that I had been very lucky, mice had nested under the engine cover and had stripped one of the electic  cables to the injectors. Luckily it was only a coulple of centimetres  and the wires were in tact so a clever free repair did the trick! They said a few centimetres more would have cost three or four hundred pounds as a new loom would have been required. Anyone else had this problem, any tips to stop it happening again?
