Electric (Hand) Brakes

Have just bought a Vauxhall Insignia. Lovely car ideal for towing but it has an electric (hand)brake. What does everybody owning a similarly equiped car think of this latest change? I feel that I have lost an element of control with regard to the towing
angle as my point is that there is more strain on the clutch which with an old  fashioned handbrake one could control. Points of view please!
