Harvester - Short Sighted?
While we were at the New Forest Centenary site this week we popped into the nearby Harvester - The Cat & Fiddle at Hinton, Christchurch. Nice big car park for the MH and plenty of free space. However, we were refused a table and told we would have to wait until a table for 2 became available. An elderly couple in front of us were told the same and were left standing and waiting even though they had mobility problems. This was despite there being over 20 seats empty at tables set for 6-8 people. We were told we couldn't have one of the bigger tables in case a party of 8 walked in. This was just after 1pm on a Thursday in term time. I very much doubt they filled those 20+ places and they certainly lost the business of 2 people as we walked. It was shabby offhand treatment and short sighted in the extreme as we won't go back there and now the word has been spread. So, beware if you visit the Cat & Fiddle as you may need to take 6 friends with you to get a table at busy times. My email is winging its way to Harvester as I write.
