KIA Sportage/Hyundai Tucson Experience Sought

having given up trying to pusuade SWMBO to drive the Freelandy 2 I am considering a Sportage/Tucson Diesel manual as a slightly less bulky 'Tonka' toy option. Can any one give me some feedback on ownership/towing experiences please? I will be towing a 'van
with a single axle van with a MTPLM of 1580kg's (altho' we normally only load it upto around 1500/1520 kg's).
